Drippin’ Wet featuring members of Wet Willie

Music Matters Entertainment and Wayfarer Productions proudly present Drippin’ Wet, featuring members of Wet Willie, at the historic Wayfarer Music Hall, 114 North Broad, Monroe, GA, on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 9 p.m. Funky Bluester opens at 8 p.m. followed by 2 sets by Drippin’ Wet. Tickets are only $10 and available at the venue beginning at 7:00 p.m. on the day of the show.

The members of Atlanta based quintet Drippin’ Wet share a long and varied musical history that includes stints with these celebrated artists. And now they’ve combined their considerable talent to cook up a savory stew of Southern flavored R&B, funk, blues and soulful rock. They pride themselves on their instrumental dexterity, strong vocals and harmonies, and intricate rhythmic sensibility.

Drummer-vocalist Ned Suddreth provides the foundation of Drippin’ Wet with his funky feel and, rare among drummers, his strong vocals. Ned cut his teeth with the Drifters, the Spinners and Lou Rawls, among others.

Percussionist Chuck “Chucky B” Bithorn hails from NYC originally, and has numerous studio and live credits on his resume, with artists like Cameo, Barry White and Francine Reed. Chucky, with his extensive collection of percussion instruments and strong vocals, adds versatility to Drippin’ Wet’s live shows.

Ric Seymour handles lead vocals and guitar for Drippin’ Wet, and is also a member of the current lineup of the Wet Willie Band. Originally from north Florida, Ric moved to the Atlanta area in 1987, and has been with Wet Willie since 1992. A gifted guitarist and singer, Ric always has fun and engages the audience wherever Drippin’ Wet plays.

Keyboardist Bobby Mobley cut his teeth doing recording sessions in Muscle Shoals, AL and later, toured with country artist Doug Stone- with whom he earned a gold record- and has also played with Atlanta blues singer Francine Reed. Bobby opened Mylab recording studio in 1996, where he acts as producer and engineer. He also tours with Wet Willie as the band’s newest current member.

Bassist Jack Hall, along with his brother Jimmy, founded the Wet Willie Band in Mobile, AL. After relocating to Macon, GA in 1969, Wet Willie went on to record numerous albums for the Capricorn and Epic labels, garnering several hits along the way, including ‘Streetcorner Serenade’, ‘Countryside of Life’, ‘Weekend’, and it’s Southern Rock anthem ‘Keep On Smilin’. Jack also toured with Terri ‘Somebody’s Knockin’ Gibbs, and today is also a member of the current Wet Willie Band.

At a Drippin’ Wet show, expect to enjoy a rich and varied repertoire, steeped in bluesy Southern soul, with songs by Little Feat, the Neville Brothers, Wet Willie, Taj Mahal, and many more well known- and some not as familiar- artists. Wherever they play Drippin’ Wet has fun and goes all out to insure a great time is had by all.
